Korean C-curl perms
If you only ever get one perm, this is it. A C-curl puts a single turn-in at the ends — the shape most Korean styling is built on — and the whole point is that it comes back when you dry your hair. No iron, no product, no ten-minute ritual.

Layered and CS-curl perms
A CS-curl adds an S-bend through the mid-length on top of the C at the ends. More movement, slightly more shaping when you dry it, and it needs enough length to show — below the shoulder is where it starts making sense.

Hair-condition assessment before a perm
Nothing is agreed until your hair is assessed in person. What matters:
- Whether the hair is virgin or previously treated
- How many bleach sessions it has had, and when
- Whether there has been permanent black dye
- Previous perms or straightening, and how long ago
- Current damage level, particularly at the ends
- Density and natural growth pattern

Perm results depend on individual hair condition and history. No specific curl result, hold time or level of comfort is guaranteed. Where hair has been bleached, black-dyed or repeatedly treated, your stylist may recommend a treatment first, a different perm type, or advise against perming for now. That answer is given before you commit, not after.
The Korean perm process
Consultation and hair assessment first. Then the cut, if you are having one — perming an old shape and cutting afterwards wastes the curl you just paid for. Then the perm itself, sectioned and rodded to the design agreed. Then the finish, and the part that matters most: being shown how to dry it.
How to dry and maintain your perm
Rough-dry to about 80 percent first. Then work the ends in the curl's direction — hand-scrunching for texture perms, a round brush or your hand for a C-curl. The goal for most of these is that drying is the styling.
